Daniel 3:7
"Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the
cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of music, all the people,
the nations, and the languages, fell down [and] worshipped the golden image
that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up."
Fear of death caused
them to worship this false god. It bothers me that even today, for a person to
worship the One True God to simply avoid hell tends to be difficult.
True worship consists of
loving God with everything that is within you, and Him loving you. Anything
else is far from the truth.
Yet the people allowed
the fear of a Man which brings a snare to overcome their thoughts and emotions.
God’s judgment will not tolerate believers’ in the time of
persecution to worship idols or other gods. Therefore, all believers
should realize that for every temptation that comes, there is enough
Grace to overcome it.
